Prayers at Theophany

“The water that is blessed in the Church is known as ‘Theophany Water’ and it taken home by the faithful, and used with prayer as a blessing.  People will not only bless themselves and their homes by sprinkling with Theophany water, but will also drink it.  The Orthodox Church teaches that Theophany Water differs from regular holy water in that with Theophany Water, the very nature of the water is changed and becomes incorrupt, a miracle attested to as early as St. John Chrysostom (Homily on Christian Baptism in P.G. XLIX, 363)."    (https://www.johnsanidopoulos.com/2013/01/theophany-2013-orthodox-world-celebrates.html)

Prayers to bless your homes when bringing home the sacred waters of Theophany on January 5 or 6th:

The one who leads the prayer begins:  In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Everyone else:  Amen

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (3)

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.

All-Holy Trinity have mercy on us. Lord, be gracious to our sins. Master, forgive our transgressions. Holy One, visit us and heal our infirmities, for your name's sake. Lord, have mercy; Lord, have mercy; Lord, have mercy.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages.

Prayer is said (either by one leading prayer or by all together):  O God our Savior, the True Light, Who was baptized in the Jordan by the Prophet John, and Who did deign to enter under the roof of Zacchaeus, bringing salvation unto him and unto his house: do You, the same Lord, keep safe also from harm those [of us] who dwell herein; grant to them Your blessing, purification and bodily health, and all petitions that are unto salvation and Life everlasting; for blessed are You, as also Your Father Who is from everlasting, and Your All Holy, Good and Life creating Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Everyone (sing if you can, but if not say it):  When You, O Lord were baptized in the Jordan, the worship of the Trinity was made manifest.  For the voice, of the Father bore witness to You, calling You His Beloved Son; and the Spirit, in the form of a dove, confirmed the truthfulness of His word.  O Christ, our God who has revealed Yourself, and has enlightened the world Glory to You!

[The house is sprinkled with the Holy Water sitting in a bowl via a small branch or sprig as everyone repeatedly sings the Troparion above until it is complete].
